“ December 2024 This restaurant was on my Vancouver must eat list. I was not disappointed with our selection. Fresh cut sashimi and very intentional food preparation. Flavorful Japanese dishes and delicious sushi rolls. Make sure save rooms for homemade desserts. My rating as 5 is very satisfied. Taste 5/5 Temperature 5/5 Attentive and courteous 5/5 Speed of service. 5/5 very efficient and quick. Cleanliness 4/5 Highly Recommended and will love to return if we visit Vancouver again. ”

They have a wall of features as well as their staple menu, which makes every visit unique and fun. It's always busy, so generally there is a bit of a wait but it is so worth it. “ Food 4.8/5 authentic and tasty! The eggplant is sooooo good! Seasonal clam sushi was good but stopped the second time I went. Yes I went twice in a month. Chicken skewers turned out to be the least satisfying. They are very heavy on Sake so non-alcoholic options are limited. Service 5/5 super warm and helpful. Sat us down best as they can without a reservation. Ambiance 4/5 Cozy, crowded, not the most comfy and clean but it reminds me of Izakaya in Japan. ”

“ Toshi sushi has been my go to ever since I discovered it years ago. The staff is very friendly, the food is exceptional, and the atmosphere is cute! We come here everytime we are in the city! If you are looking to go for dinner, make sure to prepare for a small lineup outside (trust me it’s worth the wait). ”

“ Price for quality is amazing! The store is a quite small and squishy, but has cosy vibes. The food feels very authentic, and not your slap-sauce-on-everything vibes many Japanese restaurants go for nowadays. Everything was amazing! We got the special White Spring Salmon sashimi, blue fin tuna akami and ootoro nigiri, salmon roll, spicy scallop roll, negitoro roll and spicy tofu. It was all amazing but the scallop roll was a standout. My meal was so satisfying and we paid 37 each after tax and tip. We got there around 5:10pm and there was one table in front of us. We only waited 10mins tops. But definitely recommend going when they open if you don’t want to wait. I’m coming back when I can ”

Their grilled eggplant is soooo good! The sashimi is very fresh, we will get some uncommon fish for special occasions I haven’t tried their dessert but they sound delicious! ”
